Ché Downs is the General Manager of Thunderbird Entertainment Inc., a tribally owned gaming and hospitality enterprise operated by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. An Absentee Shawnee Tribal Member, Ché brings over two decades of experience in the gaming industry, beginning in 2002, with a career dedicated to tribal gaming operations, organizational leadership, and long-term enterprise growth.
Ché has worked with only two tribal organizations throughout his career, including nearly a decade with Thunderbird, reflecting a strong track record of stability, trust, and leadership continuity. His experience spans operations, finance, and property development, providing a comprehensive understanding of casino and hospitality management across multiple disciplines.
He previously served as General Manager from 2011 to 2017, during which time he also held Director of Finance responsibilities, overseeing both operational performance and financial strategy. He later returned to a dedicated Director of Finance role, leading financial planning, regulatory compliance, and internal controls in highly regulated gaming environments.
In December 2024, Ché returned to executive operations as General Manager of Thunderbird Entertainment Inc., where he leads organizational strategy, operational performance, team development, and long-term growth initiatives.
Throughout his career, Ché has led the development and opening of two casino properties and has been involved in designing a hotel guest experience concept as part of broader expansion planning. He has also served as Director of Facilities, giving him hands-on experience in capital projects, infrastructure planning, and property operations.
He is known for bridging financial discipline with operational execution and is currently focused on advancing technology, mobile gaming, and sports betting as part of Thunderbird’s future growth and diversification strategy.
